8-day"Multi activity" holiday, for families with children

Day 1:   Arrival in your holiday house in Gradenc. You will be welcomed by hostess Arlette, who speaks English, German and Dutch. She will show you around and answer all your questions.

Enjoy the beautiful green surroundings and go for a walk around the village. 

Day 2:   In  the morning we will visit the adrenalin park in Otočec, where all of you can enjoy over two hours of fun activities, under the guidance of professionals.

After this exertion, we will enjoy a warm lunch in Otočec after which you'll visit the castle.

We'll end the afternoon on the »Matjaževa domačija« in the small village of Paha, where you will view a 150-year-old house that has been completely restored to its original state.

In  the beautiful renovated barn you will watch a short film about the typical, local wine »Cviček« which you can also taste, together with delicious homemade bread and cheese. Of course, you will also be able to buy some great wine here.

Day 3:   Today, we are going for a long but undemanding hike through the woods to Sveti Peter, the highest point in the area (888 m). From here you have a fantastic view of the surroundings and if you're not afraid of heights, you can climb the observation tower for an even more spectacular view.

We will walk about 2 hours up, starting in Lašče. At arrival, a snack and drink will be available. Make sure to take water for the road!

On arrival back in Lasče  (a 1-hour walk), we will have a warm lunch in Gostilna Rojc.

Day 4:   This day starts with a free morning for you to relax around the house or take a nice walk in the area.

In  the afternoon you'll go rafting on the Krka (after 15.00u).

From Žužemberk you'll be taken to Zagradec, where the tour starts. You end back in Žužemberk after about two to two and a half hours, where you can then have dinner in Gostilna »Pod Gradu«, »Koren« or pizzeria »Gobja hiša«. (dinner is not included in the price)

Day 5:   Today has been reserved for a lovely 25 kilometers bicycle tour (on e-bikes) in the area.

We will start in Gradenc and will cycle about 10 kilometers through Žužemberk and Stavča vas to Dvor, where you will stop to visit the iron casting museum (including a demonstration iron casting).

We will then cycle another 5 km to the small village of Kote, to see the beehives of a local beekeeper.

On this beautiful spot, close to the river, you'll have a relaxing picknick, consisting of local, homemade products. You will also receive interesting information about beekeeping and honey extraction and will have the opportunity to buy fresh honey and other bee products.

After this, your tour continues through Sadinja vas back to Žužemberk where you can rest and have dinner in one of the restaurants (dinner is not included in the price).

After dinner, you will cycle back to Gradenc.

Day 6:   This time you'll go to Žužemberk on foot, a one-hour walk through the wood.

You can visit the castle and go take a quick look in the supermarket or the post office to buy a small souvenir.

Then, enjoy having a drink on the terrace of gostilna Koren, on the banks of the river Krka. Here you can also go swimming or rent a canoe (€10 per hour, not included in the price). Transport back to Gradenc can be arranged (not included in the price).

The day ends with a fully catered barbecue in the village.

Day 7:   On this last day we will visit the small chocolate and liqueur factory »Berryshka« in Obrh, where you will have a guided tour and afterward, a tasting of the handmade chocolates and liquors. Of  course there will be juice for the children.

In the afternoon you will go swimming in the thermal pools of hotel Balnea in Dolenjske Toplice where you can also have your dinner (not included in the price).

Day 8:   After a traditional Slovene breakfast in the village, your holiday has come to an end.
