Gradenc and Žužemberk

The village of  Gradenc consists of just over  20 houses and about 60 inhabitants. Almost every house has its own vineyard on the hill next to the village. Most residents also have a few cows, chickens, a pig for slaughter and a large vegetable garden. We therefore offer our guests the option of ordering fresh vegetables, fruit and eggs from the village. The people are friendly and most speak some English, especially the youth. You can enjoy walking along the fields and through the woods. Cycling is also an option for those in good physical shape. There is a lot of wildlife in the area so the chance that you will spot deer, foxes, weasels, badgers and birds of prey is very high. Even bears and wolves are occasionally seen.

Žužemberk is about 5 kilometers away and there you will find all necessities such as 2 supermarkets, a bakery, post office, 2 restaurants, a pizzeria, doctor and dentist. The eye-catcher is the castle, which is freely accessible, and the river Krka. Here you can swim, canoe, go rafting or fly fishing.  From Gradenc  it is a nice walk of about an hour, by road or through the forest.
